The Previous Search screen keeps a running list of the last 100 searches you've performed. If your work assignment calls for you to run the same search on a daily or weekly basis, you will not have to type in those searches each time. Instead, simply click on Previous Searches in the INsource menu bar.
You can Find results containing search terms, for recent searches or even prior to your last 100 searches most recently performed. Enter a search term in the field, if you want to search for a Previous Search without scrolling through your search results.
Use this link to access the Previous Searches screen, which enables you to select a variety of criteria. You can view a listing of the 100 most recent NILS INsource searches you have performed. The listing will display the search expression, Jurisdictions searched, Lines of Business, Sublines of Business, Functions, number of documents found, and the date and time the search was executed.
To delete a previous search you can check one or more Previous Search boxes next to a selected search, or Select All and click the Delete Selected Searches to delete your 100 most recent NILS INsource searches.
Each Previous Search shows what you searched for, in which jurisdictions, Lines of Business, Sublines, Functions, the number of documents that were found, and the date/time you ran the search.
Below the search criteria, you will find several important option buttons to modify a previous search:
The Run button will run the exact same search again. You might use this to find out if new documents have been added since you last did the search.
The Load/Edit button will load that previous search into a new search screen. From here, you may edit the search. For example, if you looked for life insurance laws only in Texas last week, you could click Load/Edit, and then add other states to search this time. This is a very valuable feature when you have long search strings with plenty of ANDs and ORs included. You don't have to re-type the entire search every time. Simply load your previous search.
The Delete button will remove that particular query from your Previous Searches. After clicking this button, you'll be prompted to make sure you really want to make the deletion.
The What’s New button will run the same search, but it will only yield search results that have been added since the last time you ran the search. If you got 50 results last month, for example, and since then we've added 4 documents that meet those same search criteria, those 4 would now be displayed after clicking What’s New.
The Copy To Email Alert button will activate our Email agent. This will run the search for you automatically on a weekly basis. You'll receive an Email telling you how many results are now in that search, and a link is provided so you can get to those results immediately.
Here's an example of such an Email:
After clicking the Copy To Email Alert button you'll see a list of all the NILS INsource searches currently in your INsource Alerts page. You can Delete or Load/Edit these searches at any time, or Add New Searches to an Email Alert.
Deleting Previous Searches
You can delete Previous Searches one at a time or in batches. Next to each of your Previous Searches is a check box that will allow you select one or various individual searches. Checking the box(es) next to the search or clicking Select All and then clicking the Delete Selected Searches will delete your selected Previous Searches. You can still delete individual searches by locating the search and then clicking the Delete button of the search being viewed.
Your last 100 Previous Searches are displayed on this page, so you have the option to delete up to 100 searches at a time if you choose Select All and then click Delete Selected Searches. You can delete individual searches by simply clicking the Delete button of a selected search.
